Format
SRS (Spaced Repetition System) is a learning method in which material is reviewed at increasing intervals: first after one day, then after three days, a week, two weeks. The intervals adjust according to how well you answered each item.
The effect is grounded in cognitive psychology research: long-term memory strengthens when material is reviewed just before it is forgotten — not too frequently and not too rarely. SRS automates the calculation of that ideal interval.
Preparation
For drone exams, SRS is particularly effective for fact-dense topics: battery chemistry, regulation articles, meteorology terminology. These topics are hard to retain from a single reading.
In A2STS, SRS operates automatically: questions answered incorrectly return sooner; questions consistently answered correctly are shown less often. Every study session is therefore focused on where you need it most.

Mistakes
A common mistake is studying in one large block — say four hours on a single day — and then not returning for several days. This pattern is inefficient: around 70% of unreinforced learning is forgotten within 48 hours.
Another mistake is ignoring SRS-suggested review times and studying only new material. The SRS effect only occurs when you return to review exactly when the system suggests.

To get maximum benefit from SRS in A2STS: 1) dedicate 15–20 minutes daily to review sessions; 2) do not try to complete all material in one sitting; 3) add one full timed mock exam per week alongside daily review.
This combination — daily SRS and weekly full mock — mirrors the most effective study model used by candidates sitting demanding professional exams. For the drone exam, this approach measurably improves outcomes.
