A2STS vs YouTube drone guides
YouTube supplements but does not verify readiness like mock exams.

What it is
YouTube is a valuable free source of drone theory — many videos cover EASA rules, C classes, geo-zones and exam tips. However, YouTube does not provide interactive self-testing functionality.
A2STS is a specialist exam preparation platform with timed mock exams, error analysis and SRS. These are two different tools that provide different types of value.
Who it's for
YouTube is ideal for: an introduction to a topic, visual explanations (e.g. showing geo-zone maps in context), motivation building and clarifying concepts you do not yet understand.
A2STS is for: testing your knowledge, running timed simulations, identifying weak topic areas and measuring readiness objectively. Optimally use both — YouTube for theory, A2STS for practice.
Comparison
YouTube limitations: you cannot verify whether content matches your NAA's question bank; videos may be outdated; non-simulation format does not replicate exam pressure. You cannot know whether you are ready.
A2STS advantages: content aligned with EASA/TKA structure, simulations close to the real format, progress statistics provide objective readiness measurement. Disadvantage: paid, while YouTube is free.
Start
Recommended study flow: YouTube video as an introduction to a new topic → A2STS question test on that topic → SRS review → full timed mock before the exam.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I pass A1/A3 using only YouTube?
- Some candidates manage it, but YouTube provides no objective readiness measurement. Without timed mock exams you do not know whether you are genuinely prepared.
- Which YouTube channels are best for EASA exam preparation?
- Several channels cover EASA rules in English. Always verify that content is current and matches the question bank used by your NAA — some videos may be outdated.
