A2 exam

A2 exam failed — recovery plan

Most pilots who fail the A2 exam report the same gaps: meteorology, ground-risk mitigation and registering too early. A focused week of timed practice usually leads to a pass on the second attempt.

Where points are lost

30 questions in 30 minutes, 75% pass mark. Roughly 10 questions each on meteorology, ground risk and flight execution.

  • Meteorology — METAR, wind gradient, cloud base
  • 1:1 rule — horizontal distance equals altitude (min 30 m, or 5 m in low-speed mode)
  • C2 class and low-speed mode requirements
  • Booking the NAA exam before scoring ≥80% in simulations

7-day retake plan

Days 1–2: review weak topics. Days 3–4: meteorology drills. Days 5–6: full timed simulations. Day 7: book retake only if consistently ≥80%.
