NAA alignment — the essential criterion

First check whether the platform matches the CAA question bank structure: A1/A3 — 40 questions from 6 topic blocks; A2 — additional meteorology and human factors topics.

Platforms built around outdated EASA guidance or other countries' systems (e.g. UK CAA) may contain questions that do not match the Latvian CAA format. Look for an explicit statement that the platform targets CAA/EASA.

Full timed mock exams

A good platform must offer full timed mock exams — not just question lists. Timing is critical: the real exam runs 30 minutes (A2) or 45 minutes (A1/A3).

The more full timed mocks you complete, the more confident you will be on exam day. Platforms that allow pausing or stopping the timer do not train time management.

Can I prepare for the CAA exam using YouTube alone?

YouTube supplements but does not validate readiness. Without timed mock exams you cannot know whether you are truly prepared. Combine video content with active testing.

How many mock exams should I complete before the real thing?

We recommend at least 5–10 full timed mock exams with ≥80% scores in the final week before the exam.
