Vision sensor error

Obstacle avoidance fails or stops incorrectly.

Symptoms

Typical "Vision sensor error" signs in flight, app or OSD:

• Obstacle avoidance disabled
• Phantom braking in open sky
• Calibration required message
• Log firmware versions: aircraft, RC, app.

Common causes

Before replacing parts, rule out software, mechanical and environmental causes:

• Dirty sensors (sand, fingerprints)
• Low light — sensors unreliable
• Firmware bug

Prepare before diagnostics — saves time in the field:

• Data USB
• Full battery
• Backup config (BF .bbl / DJI log)

Step-by-step fix

Work safely: battery off when working on ESC/motors; props removed; after repair — VLOS test flight.

• Clean sensors with microfiber.
• Vision calibration — well-lit room.
• If phantom brake — lower sensitivity or OFF in sport.

When to contact service

No if the fault affects navigation, power, ESC or link. Fix on the ground first, then conduct a VLOS test flight in open area.
