Where can you fly a drone in Europe?

Every EU country publishes geo-awareness data — airports, critical infrastructure, nature reserves and temporary restrictions. Always check the national map for the country you are in.

Quick answer

Open category: generally away from crowds, max 120 m AGL, respecting geo-zones. Use official UTM/geo maps — not generic Google Maps.

Official maps

Our Europe airspace maps guide links official UTM portals for 29 countries. Download the app or website for your destination before travel.

Near airports and cities

  • CTR and controlled airspace require authorisation or are prohibited
  • Many cities have local restrictions beyond national UTM
  • Temporary restrictions (events, VIP visits) appear in UTM feeds

Flying in another EU country

Your EU certificate is recognised, but registration and insurance rules follow the state where you operate. Re-check geo-zones when you cross a border.

Frequently asked questions
