2024-2025 updates
What changed in Lithuanian UAS rules
A2STS tracks TKA and EASA sources. These points are not always covered in exam questions but matter for real operations.
- From 1 Jan 2024
STS practical skills training completion certificate
Operations under STS-01/STS-02 require both the theoretical knowledge certificate and a practical skills training completion certificate. In Lithuania, only TKA-approved training entities may issue it (procedure approved by TKA order in 2024).
- From 1 Jan 2024
Class C UAS and Direct Remote Identification
New UAS are marked C0-C6. For class C1-C4, the operator registration number must be entered in the Direct Remote ID system. Without a class mark - limited open category only (A1 up to 250 g, A3 up to 25 kg).
- NSTS → STS
National standard scenarios (NSTS) replaced by EU STS
NSTS declarations ended on 31 Dec 2023. New standard-scenario operations follow EU STS-01/STS-02 with the required certificates and declarations in the TKA portal.
- 2024 TKA orders
Updated practical skills and aeromodelling procedures
TKA orders in 2024 approved the procedure for remote pilot practical skills training and assessment (Order No. 2-105), permits for UAS flights in aeromodelling clubs (No. 2-123), and amendments to exam/certificate procedures (No. 2-145).
- July 2024
EASA Easy Access Rules - UAS revision
The EASA Easy Access Rules for UAS were updated in the July 2024 revision - the primary EU-level reference for theory and operations.
